Our Story
We have always been in business to improve lives. In 2015, Mary Jim, the founder of MJbyMUS, a local community fashion craft brand in Sabah, Malaysia, started a social enterprise community platform to sell local artisan products. Mary Jim was inspired to start the social enterprise platform to train underprivileged communities in the interior of Sabah. This inspiration came during her travels with the Sabah Women Advisory Council for an education and economy awareness outreach program. Her dream is to see more parents able to send their children to school to receive a better education and equip themselves with skills for better economic opportunities resulting in healthier living. She conducts various community development programs through strategic partnerships with individuals, government agencies, and the corporate sector. Today, her company has empowered over 2,000 youths, single mothers, women in poverty, and unemployed graduates to access skills training and entrepreneurship for better livelihoods in the grassroots community. The story of MJbyMUS is well-known in entrepreneurial and grassroots community circles, especially in fashion, crafts, fashion accessories, home decor, personalized design, and anything related to community-produced products, including local herbs.
